Northstar provides small businesses, sole traders and entrepreneurs with cost effective solutions to their internet marketing needs, be it simple static 8 page site, or a full e-commerce shop with Search Engine Optimisation to get on the first page of Google.
The project with Steve Young involved developing the company name, logo design, domain registration, web design, hosting and email.
Logo design - Once the name Spine UK was agreed a varierty of different logo designs were proposed. Using the letter p and extending drop so that it represented a spinal cord was the outright winner.
Web design - To keep costs to a minimum, only one design was proposed for the website. It needed to be clean, simple and professional. The images were created by Northstar in Adobe Illustrator - saving usage fees using Stock Library images.
Valid markup - The site was developed to W3C international standards for accessibility and valid markup XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.1. It also complies with the Web Accessibility Initiative, independently tested and approved to Triple A standard. This is also in compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Search Engine Optimisation - The website structure and markup was developed so that an SEO campaign can developed on the existing site at a later date, should it be required.
